Why Do They Hate Us?

On this first anniversary of the September 11 attacks on American soil, America has not answered, "Why They'd Hate Us" enough to attack us. To say they hate us because we're free, and they hate our freedom makes no sense. If they'd hated our freedom, why not attack the Statue Of Liberty? They attacked world symbols the WTC, and US government, the Pentagon.

At the risk of being labeled unpatriotic, why are we dismissing Bin Laden's reasons for attacking the US?

"America has spear-headed the crusade against the Islamic nation, sending tens of thousands of its troops to the land of the two Holy Mosques over and above its meddling in its affairs and its politics, and its support of the oppressive, corrupt and tyrannical regime that is in control. These are the reasons behind the singling out of America as a target."

This interview was done in May 1998. The US is seen as arrogant, meddling, and being the unauthorized world police. It was the US and Israel that walked out of the UN humanity meeting. The world showed support and sympathy for the US, following the attacks. One year later, the US is back in her old ways of violating international law by threatening to attack Iraq. European countries aren't supporting the US on these attacks. Israel is encouraging the US to indeed attack Iraq.

What have we learned in the last year? We profiled all Arab males between the ages 20 and 35, in the US no matter what they have done or have not done. US used profiling on the Japanese-Americans after the 'surprise' attack on US. It did not work then, and it's not working now.
