I have been suffering a writers block of sorts lately and it as been driving me crazy because I am never at a lack for words.

Yet, every time I have a subject I wish to speak about, up comes the black cloud covers my mind and I go blank.

The only consistent thought that remains is "something's happening here" and whatever it is, it most certainly is not clear.

We seem to be living in an unprecedented time in history and it is becoming truly frightening. 

So many threats of Weapons of Mass Destruction being unleashed on the unsuspecting populations, regardless if biological, chemical or radioactive, are pounded into our heads on a daily basis. "Evil-doers" are out to destroy us at every corner. Our way of life is being compromised. Innocent people are being targeted in the streets simply because they are there.... no rhyme or reason... simply "just because". Violence has increased in a way we have never known before. Children murdering parents, parents murdering children, children murdering children ......it goes on and on.  

Is there a rise in the terror group factions across the world or are we simply paying more attention? Every headline boasts of a new attack some place in the world yet in most cases, no group or person is claiming responsibility. In the terrorist days of old, claim was made to each attack to announce their cause and what they are fighting for. Now we have to guess who "they might be" and how would we know if we are wrong? Almost makes you long for the simpler days of terrorism. Now it has a blank face.

There are powerful factors and influences at work in our world today that have the capacity to change the world forever. In fact, they have already started. The question I have is who are "they"? Are they an underground government within a government hard at work like John Travolta's character Gabriel showed us in Swordfish? Are they our very own acknowledged "Shadow Government" pulling more strings that we led to be aware of? Are we seeing a true New World Order putting the final pieces into motion or are we living the Biblical prophecy of Armageddon?

I am not a big fan of coincidences. One or two here or there I can handle, but so many at once is hard to accept. I have a hard time grasping the fact that we have a historical Presidential election that led to George W Bush taking the Oval Office by way of a Supreme Court decision, then we have the worst terrorist attack on American soil in our short history which catapulted into the Patriot Act and the Bush Doctrine and the War on Terrorism. We have a crisis spinning out of control in the Middle East and an impending war on Iraq. Which factor is at work here?

As I sit here at my desk, looking out on the beautiful sunshine day and people milling about on everyday business it seems hard to imagine that all is not right in the world. Unfortunately, the real world is not full of sunshine and normalcy . It is a world under a cloak of darkness filled with death and destruction. It is a world that keeps me with an uncomfortable pit deep inside my soul that rises and chokes me into awareness.

I may not see what is happening but I feel it. I feel it with every ounce of my being. I feel it through anger, anxiety, fear and it is alarming. Alarming because I have absolutely no control over any of it. 

I have never been a deeply religious person. But I have found myself bypassing the Freddie and Jason type horror movies in favor of Ben-Hur and Exodus. I even rented and watched Jesus Christ Superstar recently. A movie that I have not seen in many years yet I could repeat the lyrical lines almost word for word. I am not sure exactly why I feel the need to do this but in a strange way I find it comforting. Perhaps it is because of people like George Tenet insisting "something is going to happen soon" and it is "inevitable". With that being pounded into my head consistently, I might feel the subconscious desire to cover all my bases before the "something" happens.

We need to stop and look around. Because something is definitely going down.
